BRAC is an NGO that started its journey in 1972. Sir Fazle Hasan Abed initiated it in the Sunamganj district, Shallah Upazilla. At first, it was only a small-scale relief and rehabilitation project to help the war refugees after the liberation war of Bangladesh. It was one kind of international development organization mainly based in Bangladesh. But now, it has become the largest non-govt development organization in the world.
