অনলাইনে নিবন্ধন কার্যক্রম সম্পন্ন করে এখন থেকে জাতীয় পরিচয়পত্র (এনআইডি) ডাউনলোড করে নিতে পারবে ১৬ বছর বয়সীরাও। নির্বাচন কমিশনের (ইসি) এনআইডি শাখার অফিসার ইনচার্জ স্কোয়াড্রন লিডার কাজী আশিকুজ্জামান গণমাধ্যমকে বিষয়টি জানিয়েছেন।
১৮ বছরের নিচের বয়সীদের এনআইডি দেয়ার প্রতিশ্রুতির অংশ হিসেবেই এ সুযোগটি দেয়া হচ্ছে বলে জানান তিনি। কাজী আশিকুজ্জামান বলেন, ২০২০ সালের ভোটার তালিকা হালনাগাদের সময় ১৬ বছর বয়সীদেরও তথ্য সংগ্রহ করা হয়েছিল। তারা অনলাইনে গিয়ে নিবন্ধন কার্যক্রম সম্পন্ন করে এনআইডি ডাউনলোড করে নিতে পারবে।
জানা গেছে, যারা এরই মধ্যে তথ্য দিয়েছেন তারা ছাড়াও যাদের বয়স ১৬ হয়েছে তারাও অনলাইনেই আবেদন করে তথ্য দিতে পারবেন।
